A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Millers Creek, with the Rev. Keith Lyon officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, prior to the service.
Mrs. Absher was born April 30, 1932, in Wilkes County to Ernest Glen and Emma Perry Porter. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ervin Absher.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Absher of Kernersville, Tim and Vikki Absher of Roaring River, Reggie and Betty Absher of North Wilkesboro and Danny Absher of Ronda; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 528, Millers Creek, N.C. 28651 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, N.C. 28209.
