William Michael Whisonant was Born on 09 Sep 1820 in Cherokee Falls, York, South Carolina, His parents are John Nicholas Whisonant and Susannah Houser.Confederate service records show that he enlisted in York County SC on 1 Aug 1863 for a period of Six Months. He was attached to B company Fifth Regiment South Carolina State Troops. He was released from duty for unknown reasons on 12 Oct by a surgeon. He died on 11 Nov 1903 in Blacksburg, Cherokee, South Carolina.
