Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, Inc. of Kingstree, SC announces the passing of Mrs. Ruther Lee Godwin Adams, formerly of Cades, SC, age 93, who died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Stockbridge, GA.
Daughter of the late Sam Hart Godwin an Katie Moore Godwin. She was married to the late James Roger Adams. Two children, Melvin Lee Adams and Dwight Adams preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters: Barara Tullis, Easter Adams, Nadine Wilson, and Deloris Adams; two granddaughters who she reared as her own; a grandson who she reared as her own; two sons, Roger (Reedy) Adams and Harry Lee (Lena) Adams; a grandson; one sister, Irene Graham; one brother, Robert (Geneva) Godwin; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Adams 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Paul AME Church, 4860 Cade Road, Cades, SC. The pastor, Rev. Franklin Fulmore, Sr. will officiate. The interment will follow in the Poston Cemetery, Williamsburg County Hwy., 52 North, Cades, SC.
