He was born August 21, 1932 in Randolph County to the late Clifford Mack and Inez Routh Witherow and was married to JoAnn Witherow for fifty years after his first wife Jean Witherow passed away.
Dillard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Pet Dairy and then worked for the City of Burlington for seventeen years. He was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship and enjoyed fishing and spending time in his wood working shop. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife; children, LeeAnn (Mike) Brumble, Tim (Linda) Witherow, Patty (Bill) Sprague, Joel (Shannon) Witherow, Joseph (Elizabeth) Witherow; grandchildren, Laurin (James) Underwood, Justin Brumble and fiancé Amanda Parleir, Heather (Isaac) Fahnrich, Bekah (Caleb) Frye, Catherine Witherow, Jacob Dietrich, Sydney Dietrich, Megan Webb and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, a daughter Rebecca Jean Witherow and a sister Juanita Shatterly by just three hours.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bruce Readling, Pastor Randy Kidd, and special friend Blair Thompson. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
