Raised in an old log house near Anmore, WV, he was the son of Howard Lander Bowman (1907-1978) and Zella Olive Humphrey (1912-1992), one of their nine known children. Both of Tommy's parents died in Clarksburg, Harrison Co., WV and are buried there in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bridgeport. Harrison Co., WV.
