William R. Hayes, a resident of Johnson township for several years passed away at his home there Tuesday at the age of 81 years 3 months and 17 days. He had been seriously ill only about two days. Mr. Hayes was a native of Monroe county and was born February 13 1865, the son of Louis and Mary Norman Hayes. By occupation he was a farmer. Survivors include two daughters Nellie Fleetwood of Kurtz and Bertha Ogle, of Al--Indiana, a brother Frank Hayes of Matoon, ll. and a sister, Ann Wisley, of Smithville. Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 2p.m. at the Maumee, Jackson county church, with burial in Robinson cemetery
