Elsie Lorraine Martin Isaacs
Mrs. Elsie Lorraine Martin Isaacs, 1120 Broad St., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Isaacs was an Abingdon, Va., native and had lived in Elizabethton since her childhood. She was a daughter of the late J.C. and Jessie Vera Templeton Martin.
Mrs. Isaacs was an active member of East River Park Christian Church.
She received a degree in nursing from Baptist Hospital, Memphis.
Mrs. Isaacs was a retired registered nurse, having worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Carter County Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond L. Isaacs; one daughter, Judi Isaacs, Chattanooga; two sons, Ray Isaacs, Baton Rouge, La., and Phil Isaacs, Elizabethton; two sisters, Mary Shepherd and Peggy Meredith, both of Elizabethton; and two granddaughters.
The funeral service for Mrs. Elsie Lorraine Martin Isaacs of 1120 Broad St. Extension, Elizabethton, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday in the East River Park Christian Church with Mr. Joel Stauffer and Mr. John Smith, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Lois Ann Carrier and Tony Rominger.
Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers who are requested to meet at the church at 9:45 AM Saturday will be: Herb Curde, Paul Pless, Leo Meredith, Martin Meredith, Jim Osborne, Bill Shepherd, Todd Isaacs and Thomas Isaacs. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Bayard Powell, Dr. Jonathan Bremer, the Deacons and Elders of East River Park Christian Church, Susan Lyerly, Jamesia Barker, Tom Fowler, Pat "Red" Bowers, Fornia Peters, Wayne Williams, Jack Carrier, Riley May, Mike Peters, Russell Arney, Jim Caldwell, Ronnie Kirby, Grayson Richardson and Glenn Isaacs.
