Knova Christine “Chris” Vandeventer, 87, of Johnson City TN, passed away on May 23, 2016 in Olympia WA with her family. She was the daughter of the late Luther U. and Pearl E. Buckles of Elizabethton, TN.

Chris was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She left lots of love and lessons for us to hold on to.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard E. Vandeventer, of Johnson City TN, and her siblings, Clint, Bill, Juanita and Wilma Buckles, all four of Elizabethton, TN.
Chris is survived by her daughter, Gail Vandeventer of Richmond, VA, and her son, Greg Vandeventer of Olympia, WA; and her grandsons, Taylor and Scott Smart, both of Richmond VA, and Ray Vandeventer of Seattle WA.

The family will gather with friends to share memories on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 12:00 pm until a Celebration of Life Service for Chris at 1:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services Johnson City with Pastor Hobert Ortin officiating. A Graveside and Committal service will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
