Beef Cattle Association, and Shelby County Farm Bureau.
He was a charter member of Tau Kappa Epsilon -- " " TKE".
He was a life member of the U.K. Alumni Association. He was a member of
UK Fellow Society, the UK Scovall-Erikson Society and the UK Ag Society.
He was a Kentucky Colonel .
He was a former Farm Bureau Director. He established the Gary and Christine Scholarship Fund for the UK Agricultural Department .
He received the College of Agriculture Lifetime Achievement Award for the
Louisville Area.
He was a member of the Southeast Christian Church, where he volunteered as an usher and deliver the Southeast Outlook.
He retired from Home Insurance as company, manager for the State Of
Kentucky.
He was a Real Estate Broker, and self-employed farmer for all of his life. He also was an avid UK fan, loved being a farmer and working the land , and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Thompson.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie, grandchildren, Ella, Elsie,and Ethan, sister, Sharon, brothers, Joe and Terry.
Funeral service at Shannon Funeral Home with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery.
