Waclaw Bieniak was born in Lublin Poland to Wawrzyniec Bieniak/Bienko and Jozefa Kuziola/Kuziela. He was an officer in the Polish Army and participated in the 1920s rebellion after WW1. He was taken by the Nazis at the beginning of WW2 to a prisoner of war camp but escaped and returned to his home in Konarzyce, Lomza to hide out for the remaining war years. His wife and family were taken by the Russians to a labor camp in Archangel and later moved south to Tehran, Iran, where his wife Jozefa Klewiecka died. His daughters Jadwiga and Kazimiera went to Tanganyika to a refugee camp. His son Tadeusz went to Palestine and then into the Polish army. The other three children died during the journey to and from Russia.
