Raymond Isaacs, age 75, 1120 Broad Street Ext., Elizabethton, died Friday, October 22, 2004 at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Joseph Frank and Addie Reece Isaacs.
He was a member of East River Park Christian Church. Mr. Isaacs was a retired member of U.S. Postal Service after 44 years of service. He was a 32 degree Mason with Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F & A.M. and was an active assistant Scout Master with Troop 129.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Isaacs was currently on the Board of Elizabethton Housing Authority, former member of the Elizabethton City School Board and he attended East Tennessee State University.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lorraine Martin Isaacs, one brother, Lowell Isaacs and one sister, Mary Kate May.
Survivors include one daughter, Judi Isaacs, Chattanooga, TN, two sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Regina Isaacs, Elizabethton, Ray Isaacs and Judith Ruetsche, Milwaukee, WI, one sister and brother-in-law, Nell I. and Clyde Jenkins, Elizabethton, two grandchildren, Miranda Isaacs, Chelsie Isaacs, both of Elizabethton, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Shepherd, Peggy Meredith, all of Elizabethton, a friend, Betty Oliver, Elizabethton, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
