Charles was born to Warner and Nola Lewis. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a salesman for J.C. Penney Co. in the automotive department and managed Lexington Auto Parts. In 1989 he joined his wife Rosemary in their business, the Maxine Shop, retiring and closing the business in 2000. He was an active member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, trustee and superintendent and Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary I. Draper Lewis; sister Phyllis (Joe) Berger of Wadsworth; nephew, Jay Berger his wife Vicki and their children; nephew Chuck Berger his wife Rhonda and their children; two sister-in-laws, Maxine Lowe of Stuart, Fl., and Marilyn (Richard) Masheter of Thurston, Oh.; niece-in-law, Pam Jester of Lafayertte, La. and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and great nephew Sam Berger.
