Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, and Ralph Anderson, minister of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born on March 31, 1913, in Hood County, Texas and married W. J. "Dub" Rogers on December 25, 1932 in Howard County, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1974.
Mrs. Rogers came to Howard County in 1929, in a covered wagon, from Hood County.
She and Dub farmed in the Fairview Community from the time of their marriage to 1974.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of the Pioneer Sewing Club and loved quilting and hand crafts.
She also loved working in her yard and garden, tending her flowers.
After Dub's death, she and her traveling companion, Theda Broughton, traveled extensively in North America.
She was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, A. G. "Jerry" and Dorothy Rogers of Big Spring, and Duane and Dona Rogers of Euless; one daughter, Juanez Broughton of Big Spring; seven grandchildren, Sherri Gonzalez and husband, Wally, of San Marcos, Kelly Rogers and wife, Renee, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jack Broughton of Big Spring, Lori Johnson and husband, Steve, of Roswell, New Mexico, Bruce Broughton and wife, Tina, of Coahoma, Kerri Brown and husband, Ron, of Godley, and Brandon Rogers and fiance, Amanda Parker, of The Woodlands; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wynelle Rogers Bailey of Big Spring and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harold Broughton; a great grandchild, Weldon Bruce "Bo" Broughton, Jr.; eight brothers and three sisters.
