14 NOV 2021, Notes for incoming transfer, sighted; added gender. 1) Bio section as written by the original creator of the memorial has been retained, and is below the divider. ~Clara Mae (Piper) Engle, 82, of Poteau, OK (formerly of Pryor, OK) passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Poteau. Clara was born December 22, 1933 in Beggs, OK to Guy & Bertha (Dailey) Piper.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau. Clara was an exceptional person. She was loved and admired by everyone who knew her; grandma to all. If anyone had a problem, she was there with her loving words of wisdom. You never left her without seeing her sweet, sweet smile. And true to form of her loving nature, she left a journal for her family to cherish. She was the best cook in the world, known for her chocolate cake and roast beef. She retired from the Municipal Utility Board in Pryor, OK. She enjoyed keeping busy whether it was helping out at Kim's Flower Shop or watching her precious great grandchildren. Her love and kindness were unmatched.

Her loving daughter, Kim, made a promise to her dad that she would take care of her mom. This was an honor and privilege as Kim and her mom were constant companions "soul mates" and best friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who knew and loved her.

Heaven opened its gates as she was greeted by her loving husband, siblings and loved ones. "I walked a mile with pleasure, She chattered all the way. But left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with sorrow and ne'er a word said she. But oh! the things I learned from her when "sorrow walked with me". Robert Browning. We love you with all our hearts.

Survivors include her sons & daughters in law, Paul & Cyndi Engle of Claremore, OK, David & Celia Engle of Tulsa, OK; daughter & son in law, Kim & Gary Wise of Poteau; grandchildren, Randall & Amy Engle of Claremore, Kimberly & Quannah Holcroft of Pryor, David & Michelle Engle of Slidell, LA, Charley Wise of Poteau, Tristin & Brad Pogue of Shady Point; great grandchildren; Madison & Connor Engle, Stacia and John Kerr of Claremore, Makayla Holcroft, Coby Holcroft of Pryor, Kelsey, Gage, Noah, Riley, C.J. Engle of Slidell, LA, Parker, Paisley, Preston, Patrick Pogue of Shady Point, OK; great great grandchildren, Cody, Autumn, Anna Kerr of Claremore, OK; sister, Linda Kolman of Oologah, OK; other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.
