Mrs. Fox worked as a nurses aide for 13 years at Wesley Manor, Clinton House and Mulberry Lutheran Home. She also worked at Maloryes Inc for 10 years. She was a member of Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Russiaville, and a former member of Oxford Baptist Church and McKinley Baptist Church, both in Frankfort.
Mrs. Fox was born March 11, 1930 in Trigg County, Kentucky, to Robert Lee and Arie Crick Chester. She married Gilbert Abston on August 15, 1947, and they divorced. She then married Freeman F. Fox, Sr. on December 31, 1988, and he survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Pitman of Frankfort; one son, Bernie (Debbie) Abston of Frankfort; two step-daughters, Mrs. Chris (Carolyn) Ward and Mrs. Don (Freida) Hinshaw, both of Noblesville; one step-son, Freeman F. (Pam) Fox, Jr. of Greentown; four brothers, Leonard W. Chester of Frankfort, Gobel W. Chester of Forest, Beckum R. (Betty) Chester of Banner, Illinois, and Robert Chester of Hillisburg; four sisters, Martha Dobson, Mrs. Harry (Frances) Surber, Mrs. Bob (Elizabeth) Thieke, all of Forest, and Virginia Struble of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
One son, Steve Abston, four brothers, and five sisters, all preceded her in death.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, with the Rev. Paul Hewitt officiating.
Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
