Western singer, songwriter and actor. In 1932 he won an audition against numerous other singers to join the Light Crust Doughboys Band, later called Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys. After ten years, Tommy was the first in the band to join the service after Pearl Harbor. It was after discharge that he appeared with the group in many movies. In 1948 he left the Texas Playboys and formed his own band called Tommy Duncan and His Western All Stars, which lasted less than 2 years. From 1959 to 1961 he again toured with Bob, and made personal appearances. After a show at the Imperial Beach in San Diego, California he died from a heart attack.
