Irene k. Storm was born November 1, 1942, in Frederick, SD, to John and Katherine (Hieb) Storm. She grew up in Frederick on the family farm. She attended All Star Country School, Busy Bee Country School, and Frederick High School. Irene worked various jobs in Aberdeen, including StarLite Truck Stop, Control Data, and Banner. She enjoyed working at Banner; which she did for over 30 years, until her time of death.
On March 23, 1974, Irene married Roy Burt, in Aberdeen. They made their home in Warner, SD. Irene enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, and country western music. She loved sewing and making clothes for Roy and their family. She had a unique sense of humor and was always quick-witted. Irene treasured spending time with her family and friends, as well as her dogs, who held a special place in her heart.
Grateful for having shared Irene’s life are her husband, Roy; sons: Dale Lee (Juli) Schlosser, Herreid, SD; LeRoy Schlosser, ND, Eldon (Kim) Clark, Mondamin, IA, and Leon (Jennifer) Clark, Colorado Springs, CO; daughters: Barbara (Todd) Rosebrock, Aberdeen, Connie (John) Whitten, Rincon, GA, and Darci “Sherry” (Kenneth) McPeek, Westerville, OH; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers: Art Storm, Herman (Annie) Storm, and William (Jean) Storm; sister, Betty (Melvin) Kolb; step-sons: Robert Ernest, Madison, MN, and Mitchell Burt, Wilmar, MN; step-daughter, Theresa Pouliot, Aberdeen; nine step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine Storm; siblings: Fred, Mary, and Helen; step-sons: Roy Burt Jr. and Michael Burt; great-granddaughter, Olivia; and father of Irene’s children, Delbert Schlosser.
