NICHOLSON - Evelyn Genene Barrett, 80, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Northridge Health and Rehab.
She was born in Athens, the daughter of the late Pat and Mary Lorene Wilkes Wheelis. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Edgar Barrett, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Tom Barrett, Nicholson; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 7, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stowers officiating. Mrs. Barrett will lie in state from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow in Nicholson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
