KNIGHT Kennith L. Knight, 73, transitioned from this world to the next on Thursday 17 Sept 2015. A native of Fernandina Beach, he graduated class of 1959. Later attending Emery Riddle University. A son of the late Mr./Mrs. Lester V Knight, he was born Oct 11, 1941. He had three half-brothers, the late Hubert, Ivan, and Raymond Knight. Other siblings include the Late Ernest Knight; Joy Borland, Dennis Knight, Janice Clark, and Cathy Elliott. Kennith was an Army MSGT who retired in 1980. Always proud of his service, his tours of duty included Germany, Texas, Korea, Mississippi, Vietnam (2), Hawaii, Maryland, and Virginia. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the Federal Government as an Air Traffic Controller. Combining his Active Military and Civil Service work, he devoted over 50 years towards the country he loved and believed in. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Brenda Knight; two sons Russell Allen Knight and Sebastian Steven Knight and two grandchildren Melody H Knight and Liam P Knight. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday Sept. 21 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Overton, officiating His family will receive friends on Monday, at the funeral home from 10:15 am until the hour of service.
