He was born June 6, 1914 in Watauga County, to Art. A. Tester and Betty G. Tester.
Mr. Tester was a retired construction worker and member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In addition to his parents, and his wife of 70 years, Rose Edna Ward Tester, he was preceded in death by three sons, Basil Tester, Olan Tester, and Kenneth Tester; and one daughter, Leta Kay Steele.
