Ann M. Agne (1928 - 2016)
Anna Mae Agne, nee Roden, 87 of Lebanon, IL, born August 26, 1928 in St. Louis, MO., died on April 19, 2016 after a long fight with many health problems at Cedar Ridge Heath and Rehab Center, Lebanon, IL.
Ann was a long time resident of Belleville who loved to read, she supported Channel 9 and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal Fan. She worked many jobs; from housekeeper at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, IL., a bookkeeper for Hunleth's Music Store in St. Louis, Mo., and a Alcoholism Counselor for ADDCO in both East St. Louis and Belleville, but her greatest "job" was being Gram to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ann was a friend of Bill W. for 45 years.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Floyd Edward Agne, whom she married on April 29, 1950 and who died on March 18, 1980; her infant daughter, Mary Josephine Agne; her son, Robert George Agne; her parents, Leo and Josephine, nee Fahey, Roden; a brother, Leo Roden and her sisters Margaret Bunten and Mary Hirlinger. Surviving are her two sons, Paul (Patricia) Agne of Phoenix, AZ., and Philip (Marie) Agne of Hecker, IL., daughter, Cecile (Douglas) Savant of Swansea, IL.; three granddaughters, Cheryl (Erik) Brown of Phoenix, AZ., Nicole Savant (Fiancé Tom Bolding) of Collinsville, IL., and Michelle (Dustin Brown) Savant of Belleville, IL; grandson, Chad Sweitzer of Modoc, IL., three great grandchildren, Ethan, Elena and Emalie Brown of Phoenix, AZ.; brother, Joseph Roden; sister-in-law, Shirely Courtois and her dear friend Paula Elliott.
