Warner Robins – Van L. Thaxton, Sr., 78, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.

Mr. Thaxton, was born on June 12, 1931, in Griffin, Georgia. He was a member of the Experimental Air Craft Association and was a retired electronic technician from Robins Air Force Base. His parents, Van Gurry Thaxton and Ruth Story Thaxton, sister, Charlotte Manolis and brother, James G. Thaxton preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Dianne (Jerry) Jordan, McDonough, Deborah (Gary) Palmer, Alexandria, Virginia; Judith (Harvy) Burnette, Warner Robins; and Van (Janie) Thaxton, Jr, Peachtree City, his beloved eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation immediately preceding at 3:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Milwood will be officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
