Born on 10 Apr 1845 in Bryan County, GA. He was enlisted CO "B", 20th GA Calvary Battlion in March 1863. Surrendered at Appomattox. Moved to Suwannee County after the war and married Mary Ann Wilkinson. Andrew Jackson Futch (son of Eli Mathrew Futch and Mary Write) was born April 10, 1845 in Bryan County Georgia, and died December 18, 1933 in Panola County Texas. He married Mary Ann Wilkinson.

Rev. A.J. Futch one of the few surviving Confederate veterans in this county, died at the home of his son C. M. Futch , Friday morning at 7:20. He had been in bad health for several months and was confined to his bed a great deal the last few months. The deceased was born in Bryan County, Georgia in 1846 and spent the early days of his life there. He joined the Confederate Army while still a lad and served two years being with General Lee at the time of surrender. He returned home and was married to Miss Mary Wilkerson in 1864. Six children were born to them in their 67 years of married life, and but two surviv.Mrs. Futch died may years ago.

The Rev. Mr. Futch served as pastor for several Congregational Methodist churches in this section and was active until the latter part of the past summer. He conducted a revival at that time and then retired due to his health.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Antioch Cemetery in the presence of a host of sorrowing relative and friends. Rev. J. G. Wood and Rev W. T. Newsome conducted the ceremony. Mr Futch is survived by one son. C.M. Futch of this city and one daughter Mrs Mamie F Blandchard of Branford. Fifty one grand-children survived the venerable old gentleman, the last of the first of five generations

Buried Antiock Baptist Church, Live Oaks Florida. Was a member of 1879 tombs stones Records Ordained minister. Mr and Mrs. Harrie Allison of West Palm Beach were the quest of Mrs. Allison sister Mrs A.J. Byrd Tuesday afternoon,. They were en route home from Live Oak. where they attended the funeral of their grandfather, The Rev A. J. Futch, spent part of the past two winters there the guest of his and while there preached at the church. His many friends will regret to hear of his death, which occurred Jan 13 at his home in Live Oak Florida. Miss Ceva Allison accompanied them home. She will visit with Mrs Byrd soon. Ms Allison is a niece of Mrs Byrd and visited there before. Her many friends are looking forward to her visit with pleasure
