John was a shipyard worker for nearly 50 years and one of the founders of Local 31 of the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America. He died at his home at 3726 Fifth St., Brooklyn, after a long illness.
He came to Baltimore with his family when the old Globe Shipbuilding Company moved its operations to Baltimore. He was a graduate of Baltimore City College and studied at the Johns Hopkins University. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary M. Bemrick; a sister, Margaret Bemrick, and three brothers, Frank, Donald and Gerald Bemrick.
