Charles A. Slater was born in Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas on August 12, 1918 to Josephine Belle Weems Slater, b:1889 Texas, and William Vining Boone "Bill" Slater, b:1893 Texas. He was the third son and fourth child of five siblings born to this family. Birth order of these children is:

1. Twin boy, b: 1915 d: 1919
2. Twin boy, b: 1915 d: 1919
(Records on these twins are incomplete at this time.)
3. Willie Orlean "Willene" Slater, b: January 10, 1917 d: May 11, 1957 in Texas
4. (Charles A. Slater, b: August 12, 1918, d: June 30, 1920 in Texas)
5. George Vining "GV" Slater, b: July 5, 1921, d: May 18, 1933 in Texas

On June 30, 1920, Charles died suddenly of food poisoning.

"This marker is for my uncle who died as a toddler. His name was Charles A. Slater. I do have a picture of Charles and my Grandmother Josephine (Josie) Slater that I will have my son post on the memorial page.
