Balfour Kahané was a Holocaust victim, son of Jozef Kahané and brother of Herbert; he was unmarried. He lived in Arnhem, where he worked as an apprentice technician at the Algemene Kunstzijde Unie (AKU). He was active in a resistance group that helped Jews in hiding. On 20 April 1943 he was caught in Arnhem and held at the house of detention there. Balfour Israël Kahané was deported to Sobibor via the convict prison in Scheveningen and Westerbork.
