Glenda Sue “Susie” White Beck, age 67 of Elijah Beck road, Lexington passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her home after an illness of 4 years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Becks Reformed Church with Rev. James Byers and Rev. Eric Disher and son John Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.

Susie was born in Richmond County June 23, 1948 to John S. and Ophelia Matthews White. She was a member of Becks Reformed Church and attended Lexington Community Church. She retired after 35 years with Davidson County Schools, having worked at Central Davidson Middle School. She had a love for fishing, and movies. Her many years in the schools, gave her a strong desire to help children. Her grandchildren were the love of her life as she enjoyed watching them grow and learn. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Abbott and a brother, Ted White.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Beck who she married September 2, 1966 and their daughters, Elizabeth Beck, Stephanie Beck and boyfriend Kirk Rothrock, Tammy Hedrick and husband Lanny; son, John Beck and wife Stacey all of Lexington, NC; wonderful and loved grandchildren, Victoria Hedrick, Nicholas Hedrick, Faith Hedrick, J.T. Beck, Christian Beck and Isaiah Beck; sisters, Silver Kim (George) and Lillian Harmon; brothers, Doug White (Kathy), Rev. Stan White (Johnsie) and David White (Nancy).

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215; Autism Society of North Carolina, Cabarrus County Chapter or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292
