A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Harper was a daughter of the late Henry Branham and Dempie Walton Cox and the widow of Jack C. Harper. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Harper. She was retired from Hometown Manufacturing, was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and Mamie Hester Sunday school class, taught Cora Dickerson Memorial Sunday school class and was class pianist for the church for many years.
Survivors include a son, Jack C. Harper, Greensboro; a sister, Iris Cox Whitley, Lexington, N.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
