Catherine B. King Haney,
71, of Chapel, W.Va., died Saturday.
She was born June 21, 1931, in Marshall, N.C., and was a daughter of Sophia Rice King of Greeneville and the late Chester King.

Mrs. Haney is also survived in Greeneville by a sister: Alberta Jeffers, and two brothers: Paul King and Eldridge King.

She was formerly of Hot Springs, N.C., where she worked for Burlington Industries before moving to West Virginia.

She was a member of First Baptist Temple in Chapel and Gassaway Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her family noted that she was a loving mother and grandmother, who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors in addition to those listed above include her husband: James A. "Al" Haney; a son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Phyllis Haney of Sutton; three grandchildren: Kenny Haney, Chris Haney, and Mandy Burton; two great-grandchildren: Kyle Haney and Kennedy Haney; three other sisters: Mary Tullock of Raleigh, N.C., Margaret Cole of Sevierville, and Patsy Jones of Charlotte, N.C.; and two other brothers: Emerson "Bo" King of Marshall and L.C. King of Weaverville, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton St., Gassaway.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at First Baptist Temple in Chapel. Pastor Rick Hart and Pastor Randy Woods will officiate.
