Born in Bolar in 1881 (sic), he was a son of the late Adam G. and Mary McGuffin. He was a retired employee of the Virginia Hot Springs Co. He was twice married. His first wife was Mrs. Clara Reed McGuffin, who died in 1904. His second wife was Mrs. Florence Moore McGuffin, who died in 1928. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Corbett, Monterey, Mrs. Mildred Levisay, Frankfort, W. Va. and Mrs. Mary Moore Fogel, Charlottesville; one son, Ralph McGuffin, Sarasota, Fla.; and ten grandchildren. Two sons were killed in action during World War II. Funeral services were held Sunday at Ashwood Methodist Church, Healing Springs, conducted by the Rev. Don Flynn and the Rev. J. P. Atkins. Burial was in the family plot of Warm Springs Cemetery.
