Robert McGuffin was the son of Lt. Adam G McGuffin and Mary V Mackey.

On the 1900 Monterey, Highland, VA census, I found farmer Adam G Mcguffin, 59, Fe 1841; wife Mary V, 5:, Aug 1842, married 20 years, had 7 kids, 3 living; sons" Robt G, 19, Sep 1880 and Samuel B, 15, Aug 1884, all VA born.

1909, ROBERT McGuffin of Bolar, makes the mail route between Warm Springs and Monterey. July 1st, his 4 year term begins. The Highland Recorders 19 Mar 1909.

On the 1910 Monterey, Highland, VA census, I found Bolar Spring Proprietor and widower ADAM G McGuffin, 69, married for 30 years; sons: widower and mail contractor Star Route, ROBERT G., 29, married for 6 years and farmer Samuel B., 26, single, all VA born.

On the 1930 Cedar Creek, Bath, VA census, I found widower and hotel plumber ROBERT G. McGuffin, 49; sons/daughters: Adam R., 17; Mildred B., 15; Ralph G., 14; Herbert L., 11 and Mary M., 7, plus servant and cook Mary E Donovan, 74, all VA born.

On the 1940 Cedar Creek, Bath, VA census, I found widower and
ROBERTMcGuffin, 59; sons/daughter: Randolph, 26; Ralph, 23; Herbert, 22; and Mary, 17, all VA born.

OBITUARIES Robert C. McGuffin Robert G. McGuffin, 82, of Hot Springs, died unexpectedly Wednesday (August 1, 1963) in the Community House Hospital. Born in Bolar in 1881 (sic), he was a son of the late Adam G. and Mary McGuffin. He was a retired employee of the Virginia Hot Springs Co. He was twice married. His first wife was Mrs. Clara Reed McGuffin, who died in 1904. His second wife was Mrs. Florence Moore McGuffin, who died in 1928. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Corbett, Monterey, Mrs. Mildred Levisay, Frankfort, W. Va. and Mrs. Mary Moore Fogel, Charlottesville; one son, Ralph McGuffin, Sarasota, Fla.; and ten grandchildren. Two sons were killed in action during World War II. Funeral services were held Sunday at Ashwood Methodist Church, Healing Springs, conducted by the Rev. Don Flynn and the Rev. J. P. Atkins. Burial was in the family plot of Warm Springs Cemetery. The Recorder, Volume 86, # 32, 8 Aug 1963. Note: Marker says he was born in 1880, not 1881)
