Lois Eleanor Allen, the daughter of Forest Camp and Florence (Privett) Camp, was born July 3, 1922 in Douglas County, MO and departed this life Aug. 20, 2005 at the age of 83.
Lois was a life long resident of the Ava area.
Lois and Chester Allen were united March 19, 1943 in marriage in Ava, and to this union two daughters were born.
Lois was a member of the Church of Christ and did volunteer work for the church.
She also worked as a dietitian at the Ava nursing home for over 20 years.
Lois loved her family and gardening.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents; and one brother, Lloyd Camp.
Her survivors include, two daughters, Pat Byrd and husband, Leonard of Ozark, MO; Janice Young and husband, George of Ava, MO; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great granddaughter; one brother, Duane Camp and wife, Pat of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Allene Camp of Ava, MO; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were Aug. 24, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Harlin Howerton and Brad Smith officiating. Interment was in the Ava Cemetery.
