Richard Franklin Kilmon, Sr. was born March 11, 1872, the son of Ellis and Rachael Evelyn (White) Killmon.
Richard Franklin Kilmon, Sr. left the Eastern Shore of Virginia when he was 12 years old, and went to Westmoreland County,in the Northern Neck of Virginia, where his two older brothers were already living.
He tenant farmed until he bought his farm (Bayview Farm) which was about 79 acres in 1918. The farm was in Tidwells on the Lower Machodoc Creek. He also worked on the water and ran "Bayview Farms General Store" until it burned in the late 1940's.
