NORTH WILKESBORO - Mrs. Jessie Myers Adams, age 82, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held, 3 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Steven Shumate and Rev. Hillary Wood officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 prior to the service at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams was born November 16, 1933 in Wilkes County to Zoa Lanier and Alma Suzanne Blackburn Myers. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Adams was a member of Little Mtn. Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruby Byrd and Mary Oxendine; two brothers: Clyde Myers and John Myers. She is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, Roger Rex Adams, a daughter: Cindy Adams Clapp and husband, Larry of Pleasant Garden, NC, two sons: Roger Lee Adams and wife Brenda, of Madison, NC, Nathan Sherrill Adams and wife Debbie of Staley, NC, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters: Grace Williams of Winston-Salem, NC and Maxine Ridge of High Point, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wake Forest Care at Home Hospice, 126 Executive Drive Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 or Alzheimer's Association, 4615 Dundas Drive, Suite 103, Greensboro, NC 27407.
