During the late 1940's and 1950's Mary volunteered her time to wor with the Disabled American Veterans and the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission. She and her husband spent 15 years in the Fort Meyers, Fl area, and enjoyed traveling, camping and crafts. Mary and Carl volunteered for and started bingo at the Lexington Senior Center as well as volunteering for Mansfield Raceway.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Valerie) Mapes of Ashland; two daughters, Doris (Donald) Weiland adn Janice Shaffer both of Lexington; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers William (Betty) Kreinbihl and Leonard (Mary Ann) Kreinbihl both of Mansfield; a host of nieces and nephews and special companion Preston Williams of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Mapes in 1996; son Richard Mapes in 1941; son-in-law Milton Shaffer in 2001 adn half-sister Catherine (Wilbur) Tussing in 1960.
