E. Jean (Mills) Broadstreet, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on February 11, 2016. She was born on February 10, 1932 in Charleston, Texas to the late Clifford and Ethel Mills(Crews). She came to Indiana in 1950 to visit family and help with her new nephew and in the process; she met the love of her life, Robert E. Broadstreet. Jean and Robert were married on May 5, 1951 and stayed that way until Robert's death in January 1990.

An IPS employee for 24 years, she was a library clerk at School #39 and later a secretary at the IPS Supply Warehouse. Jean worked during the 1950's at Lilly's in the capsule filling line and briefly at the University of Indianapolis library in the 1990's. When she wasn't working or taking care of her family, Jean enjoyed sewing, traveling, and was an avid reader.

Jean is survived by her two sons, David and Jason Broadstreet; a sister, Mava Jo Clark of Fritch, TX; four grandchildren: Sierra, Seth, Maggie, and Kaitlin; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m at N.F. Chance Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on February 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial and a short graveside service will immediately follow in Fairland Cemetery in Shelby County.
