Paul was born a Native American. His tribal affiliation was in The Peoria Indian Tribe of Oklahoma.

Paul married Virginia Mae Bowerman on January 17, 1944 in Montebello, Los Angeles Co., California. Their children are Timothy, Claudia and Joseph.

Military Service:
Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was trained as a Signalman on military ships serving in various waters off the coast of the US. In 1944 and 1945 the names of some of the ships he served on were: S.S. Edward N Hurley (Liberty Ship), S.S. Benjamin Rush (Liberty Ship), and S.S. Esso Aruba which was owned by Standard Oil Company.

He later became a school teacher, and was a school principal at the time of his death.

Paul's life tragically ended too soon, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Portland Oregon.
