A prominent farmer of Wisharts township and a veteran of World War I, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Smith Watts; four daughters, Mrs. Sam Paul, route 1, Lumberton, Doris, Marilyn, and Sandra Watts, of the home; five sons, Sgt. Clifford Watts, Charleston Ervin Watts, Salisbury, Randolph Watts. Dunn, E. J. Watts, route 5, and Garland Watts of the home. One son, Rexford Watts, was killed in World War II
