Clayton E. Wolfgang, 90 of Breckenridge, died early Saturday morning, February 6, 2016 at Hearts Content AFC in Breckenridge. He was born September 21, 1925 in Wheeler, son of the late William and Myrtle (Eastlick) Wolfgang. Clayton grew up in Wheeler Township and was a member of the Free Methodist Church until his service during World War II in the Army Airforce. He married the former Opal Gallihugh and was a longtime member of the Floyd Church of God. He was actively involved in building and maintaining the church property. Clayton and Opal enjoyed travelling and camping, especially at the Church of God Campgrounds. Clayton was a master carpenter at Dow Chemical Company and built many pieces of furniture for family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Elaine and her husband Patrick Butcher, and brothers Joseph and his wife Leah Wolfgang, Burton Wolfgang, and infant brother Carlton Wolfgang.

Funeral services for Clayton will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from the Floyd Church of God, 1015 West Chippewa River Road. Interment will follow in Porter Township Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Midland Area Veterans. Clayton’s family will receive friends at the Floyd Church of God on Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Floyd Church of God or Hearts Content AFC 317 N. 8th St. Breckenridge, MI 48615.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hearts Content AFC of Breckenridge and Great Lakes Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Clayton.
