The funeral was held at 3:30 pm Sunday at Floyd Mortuary Chapel, the Revs Randolph Browning, Ronald Long and Mark Meadows officiating. Burial was in the New Hollywood Cemetery.
Britt was a lifelong resident of the Long Branch community and a member of the Long Branch Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and a fireman for Britt's Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant Pinky Britt, Sr. and Fannie Bell Lee Britt; a brother, B.P. Britt; and a sister, Margie Salmon.
Surviving include his wife, Christine Britt of the home; a brother, Steve Britt of Tabor City; two sons. H.T. Britt and Lacy Britt, both of Lumberton, a sister, Myrtle Ruth Britt of Lumberton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
