Larry Elijah Akers (October 23, 1942-October 28, 2010)

Larry retired after 37 years from Rockwell Boeing in Semi Valley, California. He attended the Lakeside Community Church in Gravois Mills. Larry was an avid golfer and a member of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Versailles. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and restoring guns. He was a good friend, and was always willing to help his neighbors.

In addition to his wife Carol Ann, he is survived by three sons, Shawn Akers and wife Carole of Nevada, Michael Akers and wife Jackie of Alabama, and Christopher Maxwell and wife Satsuki of Arizona; three daughters, Tammy Ayala of California, Laurie Phillipson of Michigan, and Heather Korn and husband Scott of Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Akers of Ohio and Clyde Akers and wife Bernice of Arizona; five sisters, Barbara Phillips and husband Bob and Sue Akers both of Tennessee, Joyce Akers of Michigan, Jackie Smith of Ohio, and Mandy Spencer and husband Sidney of West Virginia; one half-sister, Bernice Richardson of California; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson.
