Helen Evelyn Daiger Chatham, 83 of Tappahannock, VA, formally of Montross, passed on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
She was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church and a retired waitress for Lowery’s Seafood Restaurant. She is survived by a son Michael Chatham, Springfield, VA; three daughters, Linda Sydnor (James W.), Tappahannock, Jo Ann Self (Harry Lee), Callao, Dianne Tanner, Columbus, SC, and a brother Norman Daiger, Aylett, VA.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wendy Dunn (Tom), Carissa Laoang (Jeff), Jerry Chatham (Michelle), James Kenneth Delano (Becky), Lee Self, Jr. (Mary Lou), Steven Self (Angie) and Nickie Loving (Chris), and great grandchildren, Cassidy Dunn, Hailey Dunn, Sophia Laoang, Dylan Laoang, Logan Walton, Nick Carver, Carlee Delano, Brooklyn Delano, Cidney Delano, Christine Loving, Christi Tanner, Matthew Self, Lauren Self, Abby Loving, Hanna Loving, Paul Self and Jackie Self.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Lola Kilmon Daiger, a son, Johnny Ray Chatham and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Montross Chapel of the Welch Funeral Home, Montross, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
