As a child Jack attended St. Joe Prep School in Bardstown and graduated From Spencer County High School. He was a World War ll veteran who served in the Navy as an aviation metal smith. Jack was President of J.A. Bennett Inc., for many many years. He and Bernard Lilly ran the Farm Equipment and Implements S tore in Taylorsville, Kentucky. They were the only International Harvester dealer with several counties. He was the former president of National Farm Machinery Show. As a lifetime member of All Saints Catholic Church, he was very active patron as well, supporter of the community . From there he became a member of the Knights of Columbus . His other community accomplishment Include being a former instructor for FAA safety classes . A life member of the Spencer County Chamber Of Commerce , a former member of Spencer County Volunteer Fire Department .He enjoyed many hobbies such as flying, skiing, dancing and photography.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife , Sheila Wing Bennett .
Jack is survived by his wife, Doris, he is survived by,and will be dearly missed by his two sons, he was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren , one brother, four sisters.Jack will also be missed by his numerous nephews , nieces and scores of friends .
The Mass Of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 A.M., Thursday , the 28th of January , 2016. at All Saints Catholic Church of Taylorsville, with Reverent Dale Cieslik celebrating . Interment will be in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville , Kentucky. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
