Johnnie Fields, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Fields was born in McClure, Virginia, moved to Westland Michigan retired from General Motors and moved back to Dickenson County in 1980. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Fields was a member and deacon of Clintwood Baptist Church, and a deacon of Trammel Baptist. He was known as the spiritual leader of his family.


Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents, Rice and Euna Fields; wife, Clema Jewelle Fields; four sisters, two brothers and step-granddaughter, Lisa Lewandowski.


Survivors include his daughter, Karen Fields-Helm and husband Daniel Helm of Clintwood; his sister Lois Puckett of Sharonville, Ohio; step-children, Rachel Helm Krienes, Brian Helm, and Melissa Rivera; step-grandchildren, Joey Lewandowski, Clay Lewandowski, Cannon Krienes, Emma Krienes, Andrew Krienes, Eddie Lanier, Jr., Drius Lanier, DaeDricco Rivera-Fizer and Dariana Rivera-Fizer; special children, Gordon Robinson, Shelley Patton, and Sherri Maceno; special grandchildren, Paige Baidel, Julis Baidel, Jeremy Maceno, Zachary Maceno and Chloe Maceno; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clintwood Baptist Church with services to follow at 3:00 PM with C.K. Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow Monday Jan. 25, 2016 at 1PM in the chapel of Love, Temple Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to go in procession meet at Clintwood Funeral Home 12:00 Monday afternoon.
