(Source Commercial Review, Portland, IN, 10-15-1894)
During her illness of about six months, she was ever patient, never complained or murmured. While in good health, she was of kind disposition and loved by all who knew her. She connected herself with the Christian church about five years ago and remained faithful to the end, always looking to Christ for help and consolation. She is gone but not forgotten.
Farewell, Alice, thou hast left us
We'll see thy smiles no more,
But we hope to meet thee
On the bright and shining shore.
