Taneka Latrice Ackies, 21, of Cartersville and her 3 week old infant daughter, Niyla Raine Ackies died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born November 9, 1991 in Miami, Florida, Taneka was the daughter of Lawson Ackies, Jr. and Dena Ackies. Niyla was born November 28, 2012 in Cartersville and was the daughter of Donlin Hinton and the late Taneka Ackies.
Taneka was a member of the Breath of God in Cartersville and was employed by McDonald’s while attending college.

She is survived by her parents, Lawson and Dena Ackies; her brothers, Chadrick Ackies and Lawson Ackies, III; her daughter’s father, Donlin Hinton; her grandmother, Lorine Lane; her niece, Trinity Ackies; her aunts and uncles, JoAnna and Ronnie Lane, Daisy Smith, Carrie and Joseph Solomon, Gary and Mildred Wilborn, Dorothy Davis, Rufus and Annette Glover, Frederick Harris, Rashad Abdullah, Shirley Lockhart, Kathey and Maurice Hope, Robert and Angela Lane, Vivian Lane and Tera and Mike Harris; along with a host of cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church with Bishop Calvin Ackey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013
