Carey Canfield Shay died Saturday, Jan. 29, at his home in Gleneden Beach at the age of 77 years. He was born Nov. 16, 1861, at Cedar Springs, Mich.
Mr. Shay had been engaged as a real estate broker for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Adelia Shay, one daughter, Mrs. Laura Hastings of Portland; one son, Roger B. Shay of Portland, and one brother, Egbert Shay of Cottage Grove.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Riverview Abbey mausoleum and were in charge of the Hawthorne Masonic lodge, No. 111.
