Robert Page Zirkle Sr., 93, of Shenandoah, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert was born Feburary 28, 1922 in Page County and was the son of the late, Clyde E. and Blanche Strickler Zirkle. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Louise C. Dofflemyer and four siblings.
Robert served in the U.S. Army in WWII in Egypt. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a clerk for over 37 years.
He is survived by, two sons, Robert Page Zirkle Jr. and wife, Carol Sue of Shenandoah, J. Keith Zirkle and wife, Shelly of Newark, Delaware; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one sister, Ruth Righter.
A graveside service will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens at 1:30PM Monday, January 4, 2016 with Pastor Phyllis Diamond officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12PM-1PM Monday, January 4, 2016 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
