Elsie Irene Smith, "Gigi", our precious Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday December 16, 2015, at her home with her daughter by her side. Born on August 29, 1925 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, as the eldest daughter of Robert and Lola Florer. Living on the family farm in Kendrick Oklahoma along with her two sisters, is where most of her childhood memories were made. She graduated high school from Chandler, Oklahoma in 1943. In 1944, she married Roy W. Peace, from this union, her only daughter and light of her life, Patsy Ann was born. In 1946, she married Max Smith and they resided in Oklahoma City where she worked for 30 years at Oklahoma Mortgage Company in the accounting department. She retired in 1984 and moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma to be close to her mother and sisters. After the passing of her mother she moved to Blanchard Oklahoma in 2000 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Elsie was a life-long member of the Methodist church where she enjoyed being a part of the UMW. She was also a member of the HCE and Red Hat Mamma's Club of Blanchard. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Ann Wehrer and husband Wayne, one grandson Greg Wehrer and wife Marla, one granddaughter Shelly Clay and husband Jeff. Four Great-Grandchildren and the Apple of her Eye, Garrett and Audrey Wehrer, and Lauren and Carson Clay, all of Blanchard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Max Smith, sisters. Essie Chaffin and Jennie Folks. Gigi, as she was known to many, will be remembered by her kind heart, sweet spirit, love for animals, "funny sayings", soft hands, listening ear and most of all the love she had for others and her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 12pm at the First United Methodist Church of Blanchard, 1101 N. Main Street, Blanchard, Oklahoma, with interment following at Tecumseh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to the UMW Prayer Chapel fund at First United Methodist Church of Blanchard . Her family would like to give a special recognition of gratitude to her caregiver Claudia Howard, And to all of the staff of Encompass Home Health, and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care of our sweet Gigi. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Oklahoma.

Could you transfer Elsie Smith to the Blanchard Oklahoma, city cemetery. She was disinterred from Tecumseh Cemetery today (3/20/2018) and her body was moved to Blanchard.
