Reverend James R. Ailles passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on December 17, 2015, at Willow Estates.

He was born on August 18, 1930 in Toronto Canada. He was the son of the late Wilbert and Mary Ailles. Jim was educated in the public schools in Canada.

On July 16, 1949, he married Isobel B. Lumsden. In 1950, he and Isobel entered Zion Bible College, in East Providence, Rhode Island, to prepare themselves for the ministry. Jim also took 2 years of night classes in Boston Massachusetts. Upon graduation, Jim and Isobel travelled throughout the United States and Canada as Evangelists. Jim served in the mission fields if Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela and Haiti. In 1957, Jim was ordained as a minister of the Assemblies of God. He began his pastoral ministry in the Appalachian District. Jim served the district as a Pastor and Youth Director for several years. Jim became Presbyter for the District Council of the Assemblies of God for 4 years. Reverend Ailles served five churches in Virginia and West Virginia, and he hosted three trips to the Middle East and Israel.

Jim was an antique car enthusiast, and he enjoyed driving his 1931 Model A. Ford in parades and shows. He belonged to the Tri-County and Waynesboro/Staunton AACA Antique Car Clubs.

Jim was a member of the Shenandoah Accordion Band. He was also a consulton to the writers of Advanced Masonry for Time Magazine. Jim had a large collection of “Coins of the Bible”

Jim enjoyed life, he had a hearty laugh. He loved people, and he was also loved by many.

Surviving family include, son, Brian Ailles and Miriam Clark; brother, Bob Ailles and family, of B.C. Canada; grandson, Brad Ailles and friend, Nicole Schumacher; cousins, Douglas Ailles and wife, Margaret and family, of Ancaster Ontario Canada, Marilyn Worobec and husband, Dave, of Guelph Ontario Canada, Neil Campbell and wife, Kim and family, of Guelph Ontario Canada; Nieces, Janet Smiaris and husband, Tino and family, of Aylmer Ontario Canada, Ilene Garbov and huband, John and family, of Dorchester Ontario Canada, Linda Lumsden and Family, of B.C. Canada; In Laws, Tom and Julie Lumsden and family, of Elmira Ontario Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Monday, December 21, 2015, at the First Assembly Of God, 1310 Garbers Church Road, Harrisonburg, VA. 22801, conducted by Reverends Jeff Ferguson and Trevor Whetzel . Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisonburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 10-11am before service.
