He was born to Roland, Sr. and Lala Newsome Fields. He attended Seven Springs School where he graduated. He entered the United States Army in 1942 and served in Okinawa during WWII. He married Aline Sutton and they had three children, Glenn, Becky and Dwayne. He was a farmer. His hobbies were woodworking, fishing, horseshoe pitching and dancing. In 1999, he lost his fight with leukemia and it took our loving father and grandfather from us forever.
